Bridesmaids Dresses

I have been working on bridesmaids dresses...
I made the brides dress a few months ago through Etsy and she asked if i would make dresses for her girls as well. I got the fabric from a great seller on Etsy Fallaloft she was super sweet, she has some lovely silk brocades.




on a side note i just ordered this pattern im pretty excited to try it out :-)
its very 90s but that's almost vintage now, which is weird.

Cheetah Hearts

I wanted to try out a pattern i just drafted and i decided to do something a little different, this dress isn't exactly my style. I'm not an animal print person, but some people are. Its actually a pretty flattering dress on and with the boning support and bra cups you don't need a strapless bra. All in all im happy with the pattern only a few small tweaks and it should be just right.
I may make it again in a different fabric for myself :-)

Custom Bodice, Bolero and Dress

This has been a busy week for me, two custom orders, lots of people asking questions about custom orders and i've been helping my mom get her own Etsy shop up and running! Blue and Purple Floral Sundress

Another Sundress i finished a while ago but didn't show you guys, another colorful, flowery summer dress, my favorite to make if you haven't already guessed. i sort of used a vintage 60s pattern for the basic shape and i draped the rest on my dress form, i rarely follow pattern directions (though i have an insane number of patterns, just ask my husband) i always want to change things when i get down to choosing a pattern to work with, having a dress form is SO helpful for my sewing pattern rebellion :-)

Pastel Pink and Green Swing Dance Dress

I finished another dress this one is made from a floral faux silk fabric, i have an entire roll of it, who knows how much is on it, a lot is all i know since i dont want to unroll it to find out. Anyway i made this one with elastic smocked panels on the sides very much like the swim dresses from the 50s would have had. its more comfortable and still has that fitted bodice look since i made sure to add boning on either side of the panel. this dress features a gathered netting bust trimmed in white lace and finished off with a big baby pink bow. The skirt is very full and gathered to the bodice. As usual i lined it in cotton since i hate nylon linings, especially in the summer. Another girlie dress to add to my shop :-)

Asymmetrical Blue & Green Diamond Wiggle Dress

just finished this dress, its made of a medium/heavy weight woven cotton with cream satin and chiffon bust and side drape, pleated bust detail on one side. I lined it in cotton with boning support front and back, just to the waist. back zipper and a sexy side slit under the drape. attached ribbon ties at the side. This is the same pattern that i used here since i like the way this pattern comes out and its very easy to alter if need be.

coffee dress :-)

Just thought id share a dress i made for me for a change, it has smiling coffee cups on it! i was a barista for 3 years and its a retro print, so i had to buy some. I cant wait to wear it :-)

Pinup Bustier- 60s Fabric

This top is made from some vintage cotton probably from the 60s maybe early 70s. there was just enough for this, i added cream satin details to dress it up a bit, i used a vintage metal zipper but the back and added a little orange ribbon at the waist. Boning support in the front and back and top stitching detailing. It is for sale at my Esty Shop Morningstar84
I think it turned out pretty cute, i wish i had more of this fabric :-)
