Marilyn Monroe: Suits, Dress and Accessories

The ''white'' dress worn by Marilyn Monroe in ''The Seven Year Itch'' also known as the ''Subway Dress'' is easily the most recognizable dress ever worn. My version is made using a cream poly crepe, (to match the shade of the original dress) The bodice features built in bullet bra cups! Pleated at the center back neck and finished with a hook closure. Pin-tucked midriff with crossing bias bands and hip bow, boning support in lining. Super full skirt pleated in a sunburst style, each pressed and starched by hand. center back zipper.

Styled after the cape and muff set worn by Marilyn Monroe in''Gentlemn Prefer Blonds''
made with faux fur and lined in cream faux silk. Hi-neck with front curving from shoulder to shoulder, the back falls straight from the shoulder in two parts, hooking at the center back neck. The muff, also lined in faux silk, is stuffed like a pillow for a stylish and practical accessory.

Styled after the gray wool suit worn by Marilyn Monroe in ''Gentlemen Prefer Blonds'' I made this suit using wool suiting. Detachable collar to make washing and pressing easier. The jacket sits low in the hips with 4 button closure and hidden snaps up the front, bias hip band along the hem, long sleeves cut in two parts (upper and under sleeve) with bias cuffs, fully lined with shoulder pads. Natural waist suit skirt with 1.5 waist band back zipper and button closure, kick pleat at the hem, mid-calf length.

This suit jacket and skirt were styled after the ''Niagara'' suit worn by Marilyn Monroe, made in hunter green twill, the original suit was a light sky blue. Shawl collar,  3 cover buttons closure, 3/4 length sleeves with fold back cuffs, and shoulder pads. Natural waist skirt, mid-calf length, back zipper.
