Custom Wedding Gown

This was a custom designed wedding gown, made using a cotton silk blend fabric with a scalloped lace over layer. Above is the starting sketch, after talking about the details that she was looking for. The final design has a wider strap, a higher back neckline and an added godet to the center back seam for a fuller train. The train is unlined to show off the lace pattern. Fitted through the body with a slight flair below the knee. The dress body is underlined in cotton for stability and has light weight boning in the side seams. The back skirt bustles with two hooks. back invisible zipper. Matching veil features the same lace as the dress, hand cut to trim the edge.

The Audrey Hepburn Oscar Dress-Custom Variation

This was a custom request based on the Oscar dress worn by Audrey Hepburn. She chose an ivory linen fabric and a lovely cotton embroidered mesh lace fabric. The lace bodice was made as a removable jacket with sleeves. Fully lined in fine tulle with back button and loop closure. So the top could be worn for the ceremony and removed for the reception. I used a vintage buckle kit to make the waist belt which also has the lace overlay. you can check out the original version listing through my Etsy shop Morningstar84  ''Audrey Hepburn Oscar Dress''
