The outfits above are a made from Simplicity 1624 view 2. It is a super easy little top, with only 4 pattern pieces: the cups, the tie, halter band and under bust band. The cups are cut on the bias with a straight center front seam hidden by the tie which is sewn into the band. The sides of the cup are slightly curved and gathered. I used another vintage pattern that i have adapted for the shorts, i don't remember which pattern I originally used to make the shorts pattern since I have re-sized it a few times. I also added pockets to one set. Both are made using cotton fabrics that I have had hanging around. The green Hawaiian print set I adjusted the cups to make them a little larger, as is the pattern would best fit a B-C cup. Both samples are available over at my second shop Psychedelic Pinup.

Blue & Silver Pinup Wiggle Dress

This pinup dress made of blue decorator fabric, with blue and silver satin stripe. Silver satin Bust detail and under bust bow. Cute and sexy at the same time, pleated bust with bow and vintage pin. The pattern is one of my own, i draped the top, and used a vintage pattern for the skirt. I have used my pattern a few times now and am happy to say i have worked out the kinks. The dress has a cotton corset lining, with boning support, to ensure a smooth fitted 50s silhouette, of course to be sure one gets the proper wiggle a long-line bra and a fitted slip.

Betty Draper Inspired Wiggle Dress

My inspiration for the Betty dress came from a bit of fabric i had in my stash, when i saw it, it just looked like her. But i didn't want to just copy her dress anyone can do that. I wanted something with her fashion sense, but a little more fun, so i added my own little twist. Here are a few pictures that i had in mind while designing.

The Halter Strap is Removable!

I made this dress with floral brocade and satin detailing.
When i saw this fabric i thought of Betty Draper but i wanted it to have a bit of a pinup spin, with the halter and bows above the bust, as well as the hip band. The vintage pin finishes it off nicely i think and it matches so well!
