Jackie Kennedy Onassis-Peaches & Cream

This dress and coat set were a custom request, styled after the set worn by Jackie O. The top two pictures show the original coat on display and Jackie wearing the coat. Made with cream wool fabric the dress is fully lined with elbow length sleeves. The coat features princess seams in the front with large fold over pockets, fully lined in cream satin, large covered buttons fasten through the front seam. Matching faux fur muff and collar that snaps off.






This dress is styled after the silk dress worn by Jackie. My version is made using peachy/apricot faux silk fabric, fully lined, the dress front features stylish princess seams with bust darts, a very popular detail in the 60's. The waist belt features a front bow. The skirt is the full width of the fabric with only a center back seam. Slight scoop/V-neckline just enough low to show off a great necklace :-)

Marilyn Monroe Sheer Midriff Wiggle Dress

Styled after the black wiggle dress worn by Marilyn Monroe during a photo shoot with then husband Arthur Miller. The neckline is reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn's ''Sabrina'' dress, a high boat neck with narrow shoulder straps. The lower portion of the dress however is very Marilyn with a shear midsection and a narrow mid-calf length skirt with no slit. You are guaranteed to wiggle and sway wherever you go in this dress. My version of the dress is made using a wool blend suiting and a stretch chiffon for the midsection, the bodice is fully lined and the skirt has a waist facing to keep any inside seams from being seen through the chiffon. Mad Men-Pink Joan-Blue Betty

This blue paisley shirtwaist dress is styled after the dress worn by ''Betty Draper'' on Mad Men. made from a cotton fabric with gold buttons, french cuffs on the short puffed sleeves. Gathered skirt with netting slip which can be removed. The dress features a scoop gathered back for interest as well as allowing for more movement. The neckline was lowered and the sleeves made more puffed as requested. Available for sale on Etsy by Morningstar84





This dress is styled after the Pink two tone wiggle dress worn by ''Joan Holloway'' on Mad Men.
Made from cotton fabric with lighter pink cotton bias trim at neckline and hem with a little bow also at neck and hem. The matching belt with gold buckle finishes off the hourglass shape of the dress. Available for sale on my Etsy shop :-)

Custom Strapless Mermaid Wedding Gown

This was a custom bridal gown loosely based on the orange dress worn by Marilyn Monroe in Gentlemen prefer blonds. The bride wanted it to be strapless with a more exaggerated sweetheart neckline. The skirt flare was moved up, so that she would have more room to move around and dance. The beaded fringe was replaced by just a bit of bling around the neckline and down the front.

The dress features 5 rhinestone and bead appliques, ruched chiffon over satin, with satin piping, dip back with back lacing closure, full lining, sturdy cotton underlining corset with boning support and built in bra. The lace up back makes it adjustable with a modesty panel behind the laces. 

40s Style Bikini Swimsuit in Spandex

This 40's inspired Bikini was a custom request, she loved the top from the old photo and wanted two different bottom options, a low rise bikini bottom and a hi-waist retro style. Below are the pictures that we started with. The low rise bottoms feature ruching at the hip, the hi-waist bottoms have ruffles in the front seams and the stripes change directions from front, side and back.

Renaissance Wedding Gown & Bridesmaids Dresses

This dress started out with several sketches and fabric swatches all chosen to fit with the outdoor ''Robbin Hood'' theme wedding. She wanted a dress that would make her look and feel like Maid Marion. We ended up combining the two sketches into one dress made with an ivory brocade with chiffon center front and sleeves like the second image but with the off the shoulder neckline of the first sketch. Since the dress is off the shoulder internal structure was necessary, so boning was placed in each seam through the bodice. The dress lacing in the front and back is adjustable so fitting was easy to adjust to her preference. The lace up sleeve is removable with a full flowy sleeve under. Since it is a summer wedding she wanted short bridesmaids dresses. The purple brocade is a lovely pop of color with faux silk front panel for texture contrast. The girls had the option of going with or without the chiffon under blouse with sleeves. I used the same gold trim on the bridesmaids as the bridal dress down the front and on the sleeves to keep them looking more matched. The bridesmaid dresses lace up the back with a modesty panel, to the dresses can be adjusted to suit their comfort.
