Audrey Hepburn's Funny Face Wedding Dress

I have been asked so many times about making this dress and i finally got to do it! I used a beautiful medium weight silk satin and an ivory dotted tulle for the over skirt and the cape. My client wanted the shoulders to have little gathers as well as at the bust. The body has four darts front and back with boning. There is a built in petticoat as well as horse hair in the hem. The cape buttons on the inside of the neckline in the back with a hair comb hidden under the little bow of the hood. Below are the images i found most helpful when working on this dress. It really is so pretty in person i almost didn't want to box it up and send it on its way :-)

Marilyn's 2pc Bikini Sunsuit in Navy Blue

Another Marilyn Monroe classic outfit, 2pc bikini and shorts set, this time in Navy blue with white buttons and trim, you can see the original Marilyn outfit below and my first post about this suit in white here:

Jackie Kennedy's Pink Suit

 

Styled after the pink double breasted Chanel styled suit (was actually a copy made in the US with Chanel fabric) worn by Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy in 1963. The color is described as anything from strawberry, watermelon or just pink. I chose a bubble gum shade in a woven cotton boucle suiting. I went with princess seams instead of darts for my client due to her full bust, you tend to get a nicer fit this way than you would with darts. I also added back darts for a slightly less boxy shape.

 Accented with a navy blue collar and trim, double pockets on each side, fully lined in navy blue satin, gold buttons. The skirt is a simple high waist straight cut with a back button and zipper closure.
