Vintage Repurposed Blue & Peach Dresses

Both of these dresses are made from vintage materials!

The blue polkadot ''Cupcake Dress'' is made entirely out of a 50s square dance skirt
the top ruffle had some stains and light faded spots so i removed it and there was just enough undamaged to make a bodice. I shortened the other two ruffles from the top and re-gathered them. i added some white cotton trim, also vintage to the top and a white satin ribbon at the waist. The only new things were the zipper and elastic :-)

The second dress i finished was this cute Peach & Pink Dress i removed the pink crochet yoke from a vintage night gown that was in bad shape but the yoke was just fine. I had this lovely vintage peach cotton and some cute vintage pink rickrack and ribbon. There is a new zipper in the back seam but thats it!
I love using old things to make something new, i pretty happy with the results and cant wait to get started on the next revamp/restyle/re-purpose project :-)

other dresses are also available at my Etsy shop Morningstar84

Blue & Silver Pinup Wiggle Dress

This pinup dress made of blue decorator fabric, with blue and silver satin stripe. Silver satin Bust detail and under bust bow. Cute and sexy at the same time, pleated bust with bow and vintage pin. The pattern is one of my own, i draped the top, and used a vintage pattern for the skirt. I have used my pattern a few times now and am happy to say i have worked out the kinks. The dress has a cotton corset lining, with boning support, to ensure a smooth fitted 50s silhouette, of course to be sure one gets the proper wiggle a long-line bra and a fitted slip.
Check out more pictures and info on this and many other items at my shop Morningstar84
I also just started an ArtFire account just to try it out.

in these vintage images you can see some of the same details.

Disco Fever/ Jumpsuit Mania

I was going through old pictures of past projects recently and realized that i have made a lot of jumpsuits, who knew they would be so popular, granted most of them were made for 70s disco parties. Vintage jumpsuits can be very hard to find in a normal size, they tend to be all made for small petite women. Below are just a few of my favorites that i have made :-)

Marilyn Monroe

I ran across this picture of Marilyn before she was Marilyn in a cute little sun-suit
crop-top with short sleeves and a mini skirt, i would guess it has bloomers underneath.
the style reminds me of a set i made from a vintage 40s sewing pattern. you can check it out at my Etsy shop Morningstar84. Cotton plaid with satin details.

Pushing Daisys Fashion

Pushing Daisies is now one my favorite shows, though i didn't watch it when it was on the air.
My husband saw it on netflix and told me i would like it, and he was so right. Anna Friel plays Charlotte “Chuck” Charles and she wears the cutest clothes, if you have a chance you should check it out, its a very cute crime solving show with sort of a fairytale feeling.

I want very much to make both yellow dresses, i just haven't found any fabric quite right yet.

This one shoulder yellow & orange floral dress is very much her style, you can check it out at my Etsy shop Morningstar84
