Restyled 80s Wedding Dress

I thought this dress had some potential, and the first things to go were those sleeves, eww.
then i removed the front lace panel because someone had melted the lace and it was just a hard plastic blob right on the midriff, not pretty. i cut the lace down to match the lining and added some trim and recovered the center front bodice with lace i had left over from some other project. I added boning to the front and the back. I made the sleeves into an attached collar/shawl. Put cream satin bias binding around the back and sides of the dress to finish it. then i added cutout pieces of lace in the skirt to tie it all together. I think all in all it turned out pretty good.
It is for sale at my Etsy shop

Blue & Silver Pinup Wiggle Dress

This pinup dress made of blue decorator fabric, with blue and silver satin stripe. Silver satin Bust detail and under bust bow. Cute and sexy at the same time, pleated bust with bow and vintage pin. The pattern is one of my own, i draped the top, and used a vintage pattern for the skirt. I have used my pattern a few times now and am happy to say i have worked out the kinks. The dress has a cotton corset lining, with boning support, to ensure a smooth fitted 50s silhouette, of course to be sure one gets the proper wiggle a long-line bra and a fitted slip.
Check out more pictures and info on this and many other items at my shop Morningstar84
I also just started an ArtFire account just to try it out.

in these vintage images you can see some of the same details.

Vintage Revamps

Here are some dresses that were made from vintage skirts or dresses, unfortunately i don't have the before shots for the first four! The others are vintage dresses that had major issues and couldn't be sold the way they were, mostly due to damage, like holes, stains, missing beads, or just too small in the case of the wedding dress. i thought id share some of my past projects, all of these have dresses have been sold, but i have lots more i will be working on in the future, to check out some of my other work you can visit my Etsy Shop Morningstar84
